November 27th Central Kansas

Today I observed 4 tornadoes from Delavan, KS to near Junction City, KS. The first was a beautiful high contrast rope tornado. As the first tornado dissipated a new meso formed 1/4 mile form my location. I followed this meso north as it produced a single long tracked tornado. This tornado traveled 21 miles in 37 minutes at an average speed of 37 mph. Surprisingly, this tornado remained weak throughout is life cycle.

Debris from a barn flies through the air.

At times this supercell looked similar to the May 17, 2000 Brady, NE supercell.

Vortices dance harmlessly through and open field.

This tornado had violent motion just above the surface, but for some reason could not bring it down to the ground. I believe that this was truly a weak long-tracked  tornado.
